OT how to say a lot without saying anything
On the Responsibilities of a Free People
By
Abner J Heathcoat
The rights of free people should not be traded for security. Nor
should it be squandered in the pursuit of frivolous endeavors that
benefit only oneself. Indeed our rights are more precious then the
rarest jewels and should be protected with our very lives. . It is the
primary responsibly of a citizen to see that those that represent him
or her does so without regard to sex, race, religion or political
affiliation. Indeed it is when the needs of the political ideology
become the primary goal of our representatives that our rights are the
most imperiled.
Political partyism is the sword of Damocles that hangs over our
republic. It waits to divide us using our most base emotions. It knows
not reason nor logic but only the brute force of divisiveness. It is
our sacred duty to bring to heel those that have placed their
political party before all else. Our weapons are our vote and our
vigilance. Both must be used with reason and logic and not with our
emotions.
We must be wary of those that seek high office. They must be sober and
humble and not given to ambition and pride. They must have only the
good of the people at heart and not their own selfish interests. They
should be not given over to greed. They must be wary of the flatteries
of those that seek influence among them. They must be of the highest
character among their fellow citizens and must be chosen without
regard to their personal wealth.
