OT: Let's Get this right: It's Called State's Rights
In a response to LR, I said:

> BUSH SHOULD RESIGN[/color]
No, the Mayor should and the governor should call for a special election
to replace him and possibly herself. What did Bush do wrong? It's on the
Governor to call out the Nat'l Guard. Bush really has no jurisdiction
until it becomes a National emergency. Course, when he saw the
INCOMPETANCE at the local level he should have stepped in, but by that
time it was too late anyway.
Remember State's Rights. THAT'S why the Federal Government can't step in
immediately!

Sometimes I can't remember my History too well; I mostly slept through
History, since it dealt mostly with dead people who lived long ago. I am
only concerned with the ones who appear in my wallet; the ones that should
appear less (pun intended!) and the others that should frequent more often.
State's Rights. This is WHY the Federal Government can't repond
immediately. EVERYBODY conveniently FORGOT this and started pointing
fingers at the Feds; BUT, if it were a diffferent situation and Bush had
stepped in, all the meida and all of us would have been on him for
violations of State's Rights.
You simply can't have it both ways. You either abolish State's Rights
(like, that's going to happen...) or you get the states to monitor
themselves more effectively. It looks like the most recent elections in NO
were more of a Beauty Contest than an election of those that would do the
best job.
BTW, can anyone say Landrew? The family that ruled LA!
