1990 Toyota Camry Water Temperature Sensor Location?

Can anyone tell me where the water temperature senson is located on my 1990
Camry? The gauge isn't working, and I checked the check engine code, and it
gives me a "22" I think.

Re: 1990 Toyota Camry Water Temperature Sensor Location?

For clarity, I am assuming that you have a four cylinder '90 Camry --if that
is the case, the water temperature sending unit is in the housing where the
upper radiator hose attaches to the motor. Look at the housing to the left of
where the upper radiator hose attaches--under that housing, sticking straight
down is the sending unit. There should be a wire or wires attached to the end
of the unit. I don't know if that would cause a "22" error code, but chances
are if the temp gauge isn't working, either the sending unit or the wire (or
wires) are bad.
