Disabling horn noise on remote locking and unlocking

I am trying to figure out why I can't seem to disable the horn noise when
locking or unlocking with the remote entry device. I follow the directions
in the manual word for word and it (the horn) will not turn off. Does anyone
have any ideas? Thanks.

I can answer my own post for those with the same issue. The manual is wrong.
To disable the horn, open the driver side door, turn the key on and then
off. Behind the alarm light unit under the dash, above the parking brake,
there is a button. click this button 3 times and voila, no more horn!

What vehicle is that for? When I bought my '04 Tacoma I just followed
the noist till I found the piezo and disconnected that. Is there
another way?

I think he's talking about a different noise. His noise is the car horn
when you hit the remote lock button, yours seems to be when you open
the doors, or leave the key in the ignition, or leave the lights on.

You're correct. It is an '05 Tundra Access Cab. I wanted to disable the horn
sounding when you locked or unlocked with the keyless remote. Now it is a
much less obnoxious electronic beep.

Do you have an alarm installed? No, unless there is one that comes from
the factory on it.

I miss understood you. I thought you was talking about the chirping
noise it makes, when you lock and unlock the doors with the keyless
entry remote.

Re: Disabling horn noise on remote locking and unlocking

Read the manual. That puts it into "Valet" mode, which stops the horn.

I found the 2005 Tacoma security to be a real Pain in the ___. For example,
if you lock the truck with the remote - and then unlock it with the key -
the alarm goes off. I complained to the dealer and he said: "Yep, that's
the way it is."
