Taco Tranny Update

Hello,

A while back I had asked a question regarding a problem with the tranny
in my 2005 Taco, V6 6 speed. The issue was that the tranny was coming
out of 4th gear and dropping into neutral. I few others responded that
they were having the same issue. Well, the truck went into the shop
yesterday. It repeated several times and Toyota is going to replace the
tranny. So, for all of you out there with this issue, thats your
answer. Tranny expected next week.

I also have another question regarding the same truck. I couldn't find
another truck on the lot to confirm this, so I was hoping that someone
with a similar truck could help me. The issue is this. When in 4X4 I
hit the brakes, and I mean hit them and a noise comes form the front
end. A loud noise that kinda scares the S%^t out of you. I was told
that the truck in 4X4 mode has 4 wheel anti-lock and that the noise was
this. Other wise, in non 4X4 mode the truck only has rear anti-lock.
Could someone please try this on their truck and let me know if they
also heard a loud noise?

TIA,
Paul

Well ... you don't know that a replacement transmission will "fix" your
complaint. This replacement may be AN answer but you don't know yet.

Re: Taco Tranny Update

Your correct. This concern was already expressed to the dealership.
At this point I hope that Toyota has had multiple complaints and has
looked into the problem and made some form of a design change. It's a
wait and see situation.
