Sounds like a timing problem to me, too - but take it apart and
check first before you start ordering parts. We're trying to diagnose
it long-distance with limited information, that might not be it...

But a normal failure mode on the R motor is at somewhere above 150K
to 250K miles the chain guides and the slack adjuster wear out, and
the timing chain goes really slack. It also gets very noisy, to give
you fair warning that service is necessary.

And if it doesn't jump teeth to the point it quits running, the
slack side of the timing chain flopping around loose for long periods
wears a hole through the timing cover into a coolant passage, and
eventually dumps all the coolant into the crankcase oil.

You might get it all apart and find you need a new timing cover,
too. Or other fun stuff. And if it did drop the chain guides into
the pan, you'll need an oil pan gasket set after you drop the pan to
fish out all the debris. Pay the air freight bill only once.
