Help! Won't Start After Replacing Fuel Pump Bracket

89 4x4 V6 pickup. When I connected the battery after replacing fuel
pump bracket and portion of fuel line, the MIL (Malfunction Indictor
Lamp), head lights and instrument lights began to blink. Head lights
and instrument lights stopped blinking after blinking 40 times, while
MIL kept blinking all the time. I turned the key to ignition position,
and engine wouldn't start. The starter didn't even crank. There was
not a single sign of engine trying to start. I read out the diagnostic
codes from ECM, it's "51".

Any thought about this issue? How to fix? PLEASE PLEASE HELP. Your help
is highly appreciated.

Google is your friend. Found this:

scroll down to code 51, there are several possibilities.

Re: Help! Won't Start After Replacing Fuel Pump Bracket

Thanks for the info. I checked the possible causes (except ECM) of
"51", and couldn't find anything abnormal. The repair work I've
done seemed to be unrelated to what the "51" code indicates. The
thing that confuses me is that head light and instrument light will
blink 40 times when I connect battery or open the driver side door,
while the red light below emergency flasher switch keeps blinking as
long as battery is connected. I couldn't find any information about
this symptom. Did anyone see this symptom before? How to fix? Thank you
for your help.
