Reprogramming of keyless entry remote

Hi,

I just bought a new 2006 Rav4. The manual states the the keyless entry
remote (which is built into the key) can be reprogrammed to unlock ALL
doors with one press of the button instead of having to press it twice
like you do now. Does anyone know how to do this so I don't have to
spend money to get Toyota do it for me?

Try this site.. I don't know if the 06 Rav4 uses this alarm system,
but it might be worth a try...

Have you asked them if they will charge you to do it? The service writer
should be able to change it in a matter of minutes.

I stopped by the dealer where I purchased this thing today and he said
that it has to be hooked up to a computer to change it to where it will
unlock all doors with one press on the button. They wanted to charge me
$35 to do this.

Also, the website that was posted above does not work on my vehicle (I
tried). My remote is NOT a seperate unit and is actually built into the
key. Anyone have any other ideas other than paying the dealer money to
have this changed?
