It is best to check this out. Mine ('87 Tac. 22R 4spd) squeaked without
relent. Tried everything I could think of. Then I found oil on the carpet.
The clutch master cylinder had suffered a failure of the rear seal on the
actuator shaft. This led to a change-out of the master cylinder, thus
eliminating the problem.
