Timing Best

At what mileage should the timing belt be replaced in a 4Runner 2000? Mine
has 77,000 miles. The dealer says it should be changed. Any opinions, and/or
experiences?

What does the maintenance section of the owner's manual say? Seems to me
that if you changed it just before then, you'd be covered.
I have a 94 PU which uses a timing chain so I have no direct experience but
I also have a 2000 Odyssey which has a belt and its manual says 90K miles.
I'm debating about when to change that. In the Odyssey case, the engine is
an interference engine and a breaking belt would cause real problems (like
destroy the engine valves and pistons).

If it's got tits, tires, tubes, or transistors, it's trouble.
