starting problems

Have been having problems in the last week starting, its goes something like
this...

Turn the key in ignition, click...click...click. All the accesssories
work: headlights heater, radio. Try this a few times, then it starts up no
problem. This only happens after the engine has been shut down for some
time, such as in the morning and after work; usually 8 hours or more.

Must be something electrical, but I don't know where to start looking.
Connections on the battery are all tight and when the motor does turn over,
there seems to be plenty of juice coming from the battery. Appreciate any
help, thanks!

sounds like a bad contact ring (worn) or contacts inside the starter
take it apart and clean adjust and or replace the copper parts of the
solenoid

Re: starting problems

Had same problem with my 80 Toyota 4x4. Poor ingnition switch. Fixted it
in 15 min with a Hot Shot remote starter solenoid #30202 from

Cost was around $24.00. You can go to their web site and find a dealer
near you and save shipping.
good luck, Dave
