Toyota Cressida, Hey it deserves some recognition.

this place doesnt have a Toyota Cressida forum, if it does, then you hid it very well.

I just want to know the basics about this car, if anybody has any links or information please share. Mainly id like to know the size of the engine (2500cc's i think) and its RWD for sure. does it have independant rear suspension? does anyone have pics of a nice lookin one?

And not the ones after 1989, they look like my moms balls.

That guys got what I see possible, except for the twin turbos he dont have!

I think the chaser is a different model than the Cressida, atleast the doors lack windowframes in the chaser, yet the cressida has them.

Also I did some picture hunting, Looks like the cressida is a bit shorter than the Chaser. What I think is that the newer coronas were the replacement for the cressida, albeit they're FWD's. But I guess thats the trend now, from RWD to FWD.

Cressida is a totally different category than the Corona.
Corona model is placed between the Corolla and the Camry. The Cressida is a model placed higher than the Camry but lower than the Crown. The Cressida is based on a RWD platform and it is considered a luxury sedan of toyota.

I have a 1985 Cressida I use as my daily to and from. It has 246,000 miles, I paid 100.00 for the car and it runs like a champ. I plan on replacing rings and bearings soon, and the addition of a 7M-GTE turbo and 85 Supra rearend w/lsd. Its a tank of a car, handles okay and will drift if flogged. :o
