question, Older [85'ish] cressida's

seeing as these cars are one of the few front engine rear driver's

is there a possiblity that, with a a stock 5speed tranny, that a supra engine could be bolted in?

with some minor modifications of course.

Its possible, they came stock with the 5MGE, which is in the same family as the Supra's 7MGE.

it has the same tranny as the older celica supra's I think... Its a nice car to be with, but when you do go looking for one, you realize getting the older supra would be a smarter choice just cos its got better stuff stock and frame wise is the same thing.

Aswell the cressida might even be heavier than the supra considering it was meant to be a luxury cruiser.

Nothing like a nice powerful 4 door sedan...

I'll take a Cressida/Camry/Avalon over a Supra any day

Nothing beats a good sleeper. The Cressida is definatly one of them if you can get one that still runs well.

I just remembered something. To get the 5 speed transmission from the Supra in there, you've got to make some modifications to the transmission tunnel. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't all line up.

Man, forget putting a 7M-GTE in a cressida... Just slap a turbo on the stock 5M-GE.
I should see if I can fit a 7M in my 81 cressida, I just have to fix the bumper first so it doesnt fall off when I am boostin.. heh
