USA '92 Cressida won't start after after alarm activation

I have a '92, and during the course of refitting a battery, the alarm went off when i unlocked and opened the drivers door, and now it won't start, no clicking from the starter even.

I have read through all the posts, and have seen that by unlocking the passengers door with the key resets the alarm, but this theory was only mentioned for Cressida's of older model years.

Will this work for the '92, or is there a different procedure to follow?

Thanks in advance.

If you can determine who made the alarm they may have a website.

If this is a Toyota installed alarm try locking the drivers car door and opening it with a key.

If you have some kind of after market alarm try the following:

Look under the dash for a button/switch, if so try the following:

Turn the ign key to position before engine start. Within 5 seconds press and hold in the override button until the blinking LED in your dash become solid (if you have one) and the siren chirps once. If there is a toggle switch repeat the process above but turn the switch in opposite direction then turn ignition switch off.

If the engine will not turn over the alarm may be wired into the circuit to cut off power to the solenoid. Finding the alarm and pulling the fuse may disable the starter lockout. The alarm could be under the dash or the steering column covers.

If all else fails and you need to turn over the engine apply power to the small wire terminal on the solenoid.

Well it turns out that unlocking the passengers door with the key did the trick. It was the OEM security system.

Next up, replace alternator.

Well that has to be the easiest car to replace an alternator on i have ever seen. Unfortunately i still have a battery light on the dash. Fuck.

Took a risk on a second hand alternator for $25 the guy swore was a functioning one.

I recently replaced my alternator on my camry and had put in a brand new one that was defective all the lights on my dash were on because the alternator wasnt charging the battery(could be the same problem for u), got another brand new one and it was fine.
Try charging the battery for a bit
