The '86 MX73 Cressida was only offered with a 4 speed (3+overdrive) auto transmission in Canada.

really?! wow... they've put a W5x in just about everything for 25+ years but a 4-speed for canada? how deprived.

Australia didn't get a manual gearbox either and even in the US the manual is quite rare.
That's the downside of it being a luxury car - they assume luxury is the opposite of sports.
And just try finding a manual Lexus LS400

Canadians are worse than Americans when it comes to preferring the autobox. Any regular car that has a manual tranny is a rare car here. Even things like 2JZ Supras you might actually find equal amount of autos over the manuals. In a way having a manual car in Canada is a good theft deterrent...since its most likely the thief can't drive stick.

yea but I'd think that being a luxury car it'd get a better 5-speed... not a 4
