Engine question

There is this junk yeard near my house that has a cressida motor for sale for $300 (cheap) (135K on it) (looks clean) i want to pick it up for spare parts later and/or maybe have it rebuilt, and have two of everything, but the top part looks different, the intake part. the intake turns into a v then into the intake. mine is straight and black. The motor looks like this one for sale on ebay. Does it mater ? can i use this motor for my 92 cressida. thats the only difference i see is in the inatke part. mine is black and one straight pipe to the intake. just wondering if i can still use this motor for my car or do i have to buy one that looks the same on top ?

thanks

it's a supra engine. it's the same but you'd have to swap the oil pump/pickup, oil pan, and engine mounts to fit it in your car and while the Y intake would fit, you wouldn't have the benefits of it since your ECU doesn't have an output for the ACIS valve but it wouldn't work any worse. you could wire it to a shift light triggered about 3500 rpm or so but I digress.

I'd have a thorough look over it before buying it, 125k is ripe for BHG not to mention the various detriments of sitting for any length of time in the car or not. if it's not rusty and nasty, go for it.

it's not in a cressida unless someone swapped it in. they may be saying it's a cressida engine because they heard it's the same engine.
