How To Slim Jim 1989 Cressida?

drivers door on the 1989 cressida will not unlock or open.....hard to remove panels due to door not opening...any tips on how to perhaps slim jim it open so i can re hook the rod thats obviously become undone?

Probly the same as any other car but harder. I locked my keys in once while out of town and the place I called almost couldn't get in. they built these cars well.

I had the same problem with my 1980 Carina.
Had to jimmy the panels off with flat screwdrivers in the gap between the door and the body (ie slightly under the door jam lip) and lots of care and elbow grease.
Luckily the panels bent without creasing (much) but it took hours spread over a couple of days.
