takes a few seconds to start

Well if I let my car sit overnight, when I start it in the morning, i turn the key and I have to keep it turned for about 3-5 seconds, the starter is turning it just takes a few seconds to turn over and start, and when i does it sputters for a second. Then after that it idles and drives perfect. What could be causing this?

to restate my TC.net response:
very likely:
-faulty fuel pressure regulator (leaks down when fuel pump's off)
-faulty check valve in fuel pump
-slightly loose fuel fitting (enough to bleed pressure overnight, not enough to be noticeable) (this is how mine is)

Alright thanks, I'll check for leaks. How can the check valve on the fuel pump?
