81 cressida will not start when hot

Cressida starts fine when cold but when hot, it will not start. No sound from the starter, no clicking noise, just dead. If I leave it for 30 minutes, it will start just fine. Please help.

Sounds like your starter solenoid needs to be replaced.

My 83' has brand new starting gear and still does this, except it turns very slowly and sometimes starts...

Anyone know how to fix this?

both of you check voltage drop on all your wiring. put the voltmeter leads on the + terminal and starter + lug. should read 0 while cranking. same for the starter case to the - terminal of the battery while cranking. if there is any voltage you have resistance and in either of those cases you don't want it. then you have to figure out exactly where and fix it.

The problem is i dont know exactly where and would not have any idea what i am doing, the car has been rewired so that Acc operates everything that ON does.

Most of the wiring is brand new, this is a real confuser.

I might have to take it to another auto electrician, my local one just seems content to leave it :s

I have already tried 3

For what its worth, here's the wiring diagram for the MX62.
The EFI diagram has the wiring for the starter.

the biggest wires are what you're checking but you don't even have to know where the wires are. put one lead on the battery terminal, the other on the starter lug. the electricity will find it's own way.
