Tercel 94 Starting problems

Hello all,

If anybody could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Tercel 94 that my mom sold me since she wasn't using it.. well actually, it was in the backyard for 2 years...wasn't started or anything.. well i said what the heck.. i'll take it anyways.. towed it home.

Changed battery, changed brakes, oil change. Tried to start it,.. WOW it started... just like a new one.. or almost. car was running great.. when i noticed the battery light was on in the dash board. ..ok well.. checked the alternator.. strap was broken... changed the strap... start the car again...strap breaks again... took off the alternator and here's my mistake i think "didn't unplug the battery... got a spark from the alternator wires...nothing bad... unplugged the battery..finished taking off the alternator.. alternator was jammed... took some large pliers.. was able to unjam it.. COOL.. put back the alternator with a new strap. try starting the car.. NOTHING... i simply hear the gas going in the engine.... no clicking from the starter... not even the clock in the dash lights... hazard works and flashers has well.. light for the door also... we've got an old anti theft system on this car with those old punch numeric key pads... this seems to work great has well..i'm able to turn it off...

Anyone!! Help !!!

Thanks A lot

Alex

You popped a fuse, prolly the ALT fuse in the underhood fusebox. You'll need to unclip it and slide that section out to replace them. Take pics if you will please and make it a DIY thread showing the next person how to do it.
