hey everyone i need some help...i have a 95 tercel in a japanese version, 2E engine
its carburater...i have made some things like change the exhaust system, getting lower,
setting the spark plugs....but i want to change pistons..i want to change the carburator for a
big one in fact for one with two throat ends.. but i need some advice..so pliz hook me up....
Tercel GTS, remember he is from El Salvador. Toyota has a way of doing all kinds of strange things in the same cars in different countries. His might have been made in Venezuela or Trinidad.
Chabalala, where was your car made ? It should say on the plate on the door.

Venezuela..it has been made in venezuela..in fact in El Salvador there were two type of engines one with 1.3 L carburater too and one with 1.5L also carburater.... i want to make some upgrades...but its hard to find some things or to make custom parts....
The best suggestion I have is to try to get a Weber or Micuni carburator. The only problem is I don't know where you might get those. All the Tercels sold in the USA since about 1992 have fuel injection. Actually, maybe all cars.
I put a fuel injected engine from a Paseo into my 1989 Tercel which was originally carburated and it took 3 months to get the wiring to work, since I had to connect both the old and new wiring together.
If you could find a wrecked Paseo and get the engine and all the wiring from it, that would also be a good modification. To swap the Paseo engine and wiring into your car should be very easy. What is the horse power of your car?
The '92 -'94 Paseo have 100 hp, the '95 -'98 have about 96 hp.
Muy bonita su carro

If the tercel is still carbed there wouldn't the paseo also be?
I honestly didn't know anybody in the world still had carbs. Why didn't they go fuel injection too?

in latinoamerica es very common to find carbs cars....i have read that in the racing area you can get more whp to a carb car than an injected car, i dont know...my tercel stock has 96 hp which realy is like 89 whp, now its putting in the dyno 100whp or 120 hp to the engine...which is very poor for racing...here in El Salvador we run in a race park name JABALI and the categories are. Stock A1 1300cc-1500cc, with "no" modification (but nobody runs stock) Stock A2 1500cc-1800cc, also with no modification, there is othe call pro-stock"A", pro-stock"B", pro-stock"C" that are cars that have some modification and pro-D for all AWD, i run in the stock A1...but i need more hp to be more competitive....
I was thinking of a US, Australian, or Japanese Paseo wreck.
I am impressed with the 96hp from a 1.3L engine, but they don't have the emission requirements that we do, so that might be how they get it.
If you are getting 120hp you are doing something right ! forget the Paseo engine.
Twin Micuni carburators off an older big-bore motorcycle might be a consideration but would require some custom manifold work. I know it can be done. I've seen photos, but cannot rember where.
If you really want to go fast, try for a Starlet turbo. But that will require fuel injection and wiring head aches.
Buena suerte (good luck)
