Canada It's Finally Done!!!

IT’S FINALLY DONE!!!

That’s right! My 5efhe is finally running! And it was only one year, two months, three weeks, two days, 18 hours, and 50 minutes since I last drove it. Total cost of the whole swap? I have no clue. But who cares! It’s running! I can have my life back now. That’s actually why I’m posting this so late. Because I was out tearing up the streets. Well, cruising around at a normal speed listening to some good music with my friend Ashley. But tomorrow I’m probably taking it to the big city, as long as I get the stuff I have to do to it done first.

Here it is. That’s Manitoba’s First and Only JDM Powered Tercel. This is with the rims already installed. The stock rims look really awful, I will have to decide what I’m doing about winter tires really soon. 13’s don’t fit over Paseo brakes. Which I will have by next winter. Anyways, this is it and all it’s glory and dust from sitting for nearly 14 months.

Congrats and thanks for the updates along the way. I started reading these threads trying to help a friend out. I actually don't have a car, but I have been so impressed with you guys enthusiasm and abilities I have been considering buying a Tercel. The gas situation helped steer me from an Amigo or Tracker to the Tercel. Thanks for for all the tips and good luck with the 5EFHE.

I think rough estimates of the price were around $2300 Canadian. That's for the motor and the install. Which was done by Portage Toyota. This is probably the only dealer performed Tercel swap in history. Not many get done by dealers.

I'll get some pictures of the engine tomorrow. I have one on my computer, but it's blurry. The engine bay is super dirty.

Thumbs up

Ok. So there is the bundle of plugs right near where the intake should be. I can't seem to find any sensors for the intake though. Are these plugs for them? But they forgot to put the sensors in the trunk with my other stuff? My very nice (used) Hotshot headers.

It goes so well that it killed my poor old little three speed auto. So now it's sitting again. Damn it! I was out for a cruise last night when we started noticing the smell of burnig oil. I thought the motor blew or something. But it was the transmission spraying ATF all over. I'm thinking(hoping ) that it's just a seal or something, because we stopped the car before anything blew up or made a big bang and the car stopped us.

That would actually be the easiest way to change it considering that you would have to jack up the motor anyway to get the tranny out.
