Not too bad. I suggest the entire water pump assembly to make install easier. If you just get the pump you will have a fun time with a puller to get the pulley off. You also want to buy all the gaskets (including the oil dipstick gasket since you will have to remove it) before hand so that you don't have problems later.
The new water pumps come with a pully, and it is installed after the water pump is bolted up other wise you would not be able to blot up the waterpump. getting the other gaskets could be dificult, I could not get them besides ordering the rebuild kit, so I bought gasket paper and a o ring kit and made my own.
You can get the pump with or without the pulley. I have bought it both ways. If you need Toyota part numbers for the gaskets just let me know. I'm pretty sure that I have them somewhere and then you can get them from your local dealer or a Toyota parts dealer online.
ok when good deal, when I went to the dealer they had a hard time. Heck just to get the rear motormount for my 93 took a special order, took a week to get it in. I was told the cars are getting old and the parts are stocked at higher levels rather than lower levels. ON the pump I went to a local checker I thingk and the ones they get all come with pullyes. I try to stay away from the dealer because of the cost. from when I checked they want twice as much as the local joints, I know they are not as high of quality as the OEM. I am just trying to keep her going. I two other water pumps that came off the old engine and the japan engine both in good condition I still put a new one on for priciple. Heck I have a complete 5e engine tore aprt sitting in a tough box. I was going to rebuild it but hjaven't gotten to it, and probably won't.Lance
k well i got the pulley off of the pump and i got four bolts of the pump off but th 5th one is hard to get off bcause part of the motor mount is in the way so i am unable to unscrew it, do i need to take the mount off
alright well, i still have not figured it out, but this coming saturday i am goin to attempt gettin the motor mount off, me and my pops are prolly goin to hold the motor some how so when i take the mount off it doesnt tip, but ill let u guys know whats goin on just in case u can help somehow
I normally jack it up from the oil pan and it will relieve the pressure off the motormount. very easy to remove then. but put a 2by 4 between the jack and the iol pan to disperse the weight and so you don't have metal to metal. plus with the engine up it's easier to get to the waqter pump.
