I am having trouble with my drivers side tail light. The brake light dont work but the regular tail light does. I have replaced the buld. the required part is like a 1157 bulb. but the one that was in there was a 1156 buld. it is a single contact buld and not a dual contact bulb. i have check the wiring, well as far as my knowledge of wiring goes/ Any help would be nice.
That's funny, cuz I have problems with my driver side brake light, too.
The bulb blows, I replace it and it blows again within a week! Maybe poor wiring! It's probably grounding itself out somewhere. I'm just too lazy to check!

I think that was on the Paseo recall list. I guess I don't have problems because my car has been back to the dealer once or twice to fix recall issues like the seat belt latch and a few other problems.
The 1157 wont fight into the bulb socket!!!! The only buld that will fit into the socket is an 1156 with a single contact. And the reason why is because of those stupid little nubs on the end of the buld that get set into the slots in the socket. The buld on the passenger is a single contact 1156 and works fine. it might be a wiring problem, but the regular tail light works and not the brake light though. Ohwell maybe one day i will get the answer.
Hmmmm, interesting I figured some one forced the 1156 in place. My 93 has 1157's where that 1156 is. I just replaced them all because they started to go one by one. was there a recall or something like that?
man i must have the rarest or most F'ed up seo every. It is a 93 and the lens housing even calls for a 1156. I tried again to wedge a 1157 into but the little nubs still would not line up. Both sides have a 1156 one side works and the other doesnt. So i am assuming it is a wiring problem right now.
