Unhappy 5EFE Head Bolt Tightening Question??

Hey guys thanks for all the help,

I'm getting ready to install my the head on my 5EFE. The pistons are in and looking good. I found the following picture on the web. I know now that the headbolts are Torque to Yield, so I will be replacing the bolts as well.

My question is simple, I understand that in Step 1: you torque the bolts to 33 ft lbs in the order that is given, 1,2,3,4,5, etc.

I want to know if they should all be hand tight, then to 33 ft lbs, or just insert bolt 1(tighten to 33 ft lbs), insert bolt 2(tighen to 33 ft lbs) ... etc.

I don't want to make this harder then it seems, but then again I don't want to Fu$k up my motor.

Has anyone BTDT before ??
Let me know,

Thanks,

reezytercel

those specs dont seem high enough for a head....are those right? the haynes manual i have says:

9 3 1 6 8
<< FRONT
7 5 2 4 10

install all bolts finger tight
tighten to 22ft lbs
tighten to 36ft lbs
turn 90 degrees

are these different between motors? mine is for the 3e-e

32, 33 and 36 aren't much difference, but that 1/4 turn at the end is the quencher. I agree, it still seems light. I'll look it up in mitchell for shits and giggles to see what they say.
