Angry Blowing fuses...

Okay guys I have another issue now. Last night while driving over a rough part of a street my illumination on the cluster, heater controls, and parking lights turned off. I got home and sure enough the fuse for the tail lamps was blown. I went to replace it and as soon as I turned them on the fuse was blown instantly. I checked all the wire connections and sockets to the parking light all around the car, and I also checked all the bulbs, everything seems fine. My headlights still work and so do my stop lamps. What do you guys think it is? What should I do next? I am really considering selling this car now, I dont want to invest anymore $$ on it. The bad thing is that I have only owned three Toyotas in my life and have nothing but issues with them.

Every car has issues, it's the size of those issues that make a bad car and Toyotas have small issues when compared to most other brands. As far as your problem... a short more than likely. Did you check your wires coming in at the kick panels? Did you upgrade your bulbs recently? Are your fuses the right ratings?

You are right Paseo, I guess I am a bit frustrated that every week is a small issue and I took it out on Toyotas. I did not check the wires at the kick panel, I replaced all the bulbs in the car with regular Sivania bulbs from Autozone about three months ago, and when I went to replace the first fuse i saw that it was a 25 amp but the guide called for a 15 amp fuse. So I replaced it with a 15 amp fuse and it instantly blew it. Where can the short be? Like I said I was just driving over a rought road and the lights went off.

Check the wires running into the driver side kick panel and check the harness which I believe runs over the right rear wheel well. Also try cleaning your bulb harness contacts.

Took it to a hole in the wall shop and traced it back to the radio harness/conector. They removed the connector and voila...fixed! Now I need to find a Toyota radio connector with pig tails in order to splice it into the existing vehicle harness. Thanks!

The radio itself may be shorted.
