Up for sale is a 1997 Toyota Paseo Si in Super White II, and for those of you that don't know, the Si is the higher spec model which comes as standard with ABS, Dual Airbags, CD Player, Rear Spoiler with third Brake light, alloy wheels, etc...
Price im looking for is £2950 ovno.
This may seem a bit high, but if you search elsewhere, the lesser specced ST with a much higher mileage than my car going for £2850! I'm not trying to make money here like a trader would, just want to make an honest sale for the car's worth! And when I bought the car in June 2004 it cost £3,500 and have since then only put 5000mi on the car. Note: A set of 4 brand new OEM specified shock absorbers (KYB GR-2's) will be installed on the car this weekend, which are worth £335 (after the custom's and postage prices of bringing them into the country). The car doesn't really necessitate of them, but the rears were ever so slightly worn so might as well replace them all round! The car will also be given a bit of a valet before the sale, and new wipers may be supplied!
The car was billed by Toyota as an economical and reliable sports car, but don't let it dissuade you because it is huge fun, a great and easy car to own and perfectly suited to first drivers due to the easy controls. Powered by the venerable 5E-FE (1497cc, 93bhp, 35mpg in mixed driving), and this is actually the 2nd generation of the 5E-FE engine, which has been consequently retuned to give more torque over a larger part of the powerband, whilst still retaining the sporty " revvy " nature of the 1st generation 5E-FE. For " power junkies ", the 4E-FTE (1331cc, turbocharged & intercooled, 133bhp) is a relatively easy drop in, which can be done by specialists for little outlay. As standard, the car is relatively nippy, due to its very light weight (960kg dry), with good overtaking capabilities on the motorway.
The car comes with M.O.T, Tax, FSH, Vehicle Manual, Tyre / alarm receipts, Original Dealer's brochure and options booklet (as a nice little touch), Original sunroof holder bag, " 5th Alloy " spare wheel, alarm + immobiliser, central looking with remote keyfob (spare included incase of loosing the first). Since I purchased the car in mid-June 2004 I have only put 5000mi on the car, as I pretty much had nowhere to go to. Since I got the car I have performed some basic maintenance, changing the oil (fully synth), oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, light bulb, and have been using Shell Optimax recently just as a safe keep. The tyres are also in excellent condition, having only 5000mi on them (5th alloy spare never used). I have also installed dash parts from the 1994 First generation Paseo, adding a second set of cupholders (5 in total now) and a cubby hole in the dash. The car falls into the group 7 insurance category, and tax for this car is around £110 a year.
The only negative point about the car is that there is some paint damage on the rear bumper (some cracked paint) as I reversed into a metal container in my garage when changing the oil in the car, otherwise it is immaculate.
As mentioned, I am looking for £2950, ovno.!!
For any interested people, please contact me at " riko.catania7@gmail.com ", serious enquirers will be given my mobile number so we can start negotiating on the purchase, thank you for your time!
So all you british guys close enough to Oxford / Caterham, come on in and buy it! You won't regret it, ask your friends, ask your family, ask anyone! It needs to guy soon...
