so i recently bought a 1989 toyota tercel from a guy for $600. First off, there were a lot of new parts in the car, and i liked this. However, there was no owners manual for the car. i was wondering if anyone could give me some specs on the car. i know the general information, but i'm looking for detailed specs such as suggested oil weight...etc. it would be much appreciated, thank you.
hmmm, i use 10W-30 Castrol GTX in my 89 when i'm using conventional oil. i use Valvoline 10W-30 when i'm breaking-in an engine. i use Redline 10W-30 synthetic regularly and Mobil1 10W-30 when i can't get the Redline. the suggested stuff you're looking for (i assume) are the variances for temperature, right?
yay i used 5W-30...it works swell so far! i also have an oil leak, that i assume is coming from either the rocker cover or the rear seal...my brother told me that finding an oil leak is like finding a mouse in the country...so far he's right. but there's many other issues w/ the car, that i doubt i'll put a whole lot of money into...
Check some of the previous posts on this subject.
There are a few engine possibilities, but pretty much all involve going from carburetor to fuel injection on your car. The wiring for the fuel injection is the hardest part if you do it yourself. There are folks on here that will make a wire harness for you for a fee.
