Rocker arm replacement

Hey everyone, I replaced my head in my 94 Tercel since it had a bent valve and the camshaft was shot. The head I used was from this car that was hit. I got it rebuilt at a machine shop and came back looking bless. After I got it in the car, I went to try and adjust the valves and the screw was basically stuck to the nut. I almost broke the slot of the screw while trying to move it. I decided to leave them alone and started the car. I'm hearing a loud ticking/knocking sound and i figure it got to be the valves. The timing should be perfect cause I aligned everything. So what I'm thinking on doing is replacing the rocker arms on this head with the ones from my old head since the adjusting screws are spinning nice on those. Is that a good idea? Or should i just get new rockers arms, cause I'm concerned that since they are on one camshaft, that they might take the shape of that camshaft and would be imcompatible with another cam. Somebody let me know, thanks.

If the cam is brand new I'd get new arms.

First a few questions.
Did you loosen the jam nut first before trying to adjust the rocker arm?
Will the adjuster screw and nut come out of the rocker arm together? If yes, just change the screw and nut.

I would think that you should be able to swap the rocker arms from one engine to the next without any problems. Inspect them at the pivot surface, the valve contact area and the and the cam contact area for wear. If they look and feel good, even and smoothe I would go for it.

Modification: Changing something to what you thought it should have been from the start!

Ok I figured it out, but not without destroying one of the screws first. I did loosen the jam nut but i couldn't get the screw to spin without the jam nut spinning as well. One of the screws got damaged as I put a lil pressure to spin it with the screwdriver. But I changed the screw and realized for the other rockers arms that if I spin the nut all the way counterclockwise and let the ball end of the screw go against the rocker arm, that would be enough leverage to get the nut to spin free from the screw. So I just changed the screw and the nut instead of putting in the rocker arms from my spare head. The cam I have isn't new though.
Thanks guys!!
