did you try taking the TB and all components apart and cleaning? Mine still moves around at a stop but between 600 and 1000 rpms. Now Mine also goes to 1300 rpms at a cold start up which is normal for a cold engine, gotta go work

I cleaned it as much as I could but did not remove it.
I think it might be a temp sensor , maybe an EGR. I just wish someone would have done it before and know exactly what it is...
But I guess I will do a TB cleaning, it will not hurt anyway
thanks

back hate it when works comes first LOL. any way remove the two bolts and two nuts and disconnect the vaccum and water lines remember to mark the places where the bottom hoses go (FOUR, two vaccum and two antifreeze) you will loose alittle antifreeze so put a pan underneath. (don't remove the radiator cap or you will have a mess) take the whole thing apart and clean with carb cleaner be careful not to mess up the gaskets so they can be reused, or get som gasket making paper and make your own new. clean the heak out of it with carb cleaner then put back to gether. especially claen the air adj screw so screw it all the way out then 1 1/2 turn back out once all the way back in. lot of carbon in there.

It seems the same procedure I did on My Lexus LS 400 1UZFE engine. Piece o cake, I will try that. I have doubts it will help, but it needs to be done after so many miles. Thanks.

What is a normal operating rpm, for a 93 seo. Car in drive, at a stop light?? I am at 400 rpm and it dies every once in awhile. But there is a reason why i havent adjusted the idle. I had an exhuast leak (ok not a leak, the manifold and down pipe weretn even bolted together anymore) and i the idle was fine. Now that i just fixed the leak, the idle is extremely low. the other reason i havent adjusted the idle, is that i am not sure how to do it. I am sure i just adjust the throttle cable or something like that. I am willing to accept anyones 2 cents.

are you talking about manual or automatic? the manual is 700 +/_50. If the sticker is still there on the hood it should tell you if it's an auto.

to adjust the idle only, on the butterfly there is a adj screw take a 8 mm wrtench and a allen key. Loosen up the nut then turn the screw with the allen key clocl wise untill you get the desired rpms. make sure the engine is at normal operating temp.

Question

Hey guys, when i first start up my Paseo on a cold day it runs straight up to 2000 rpm, but than it decreases sloowwwllyy. I thought that this was normal, because the engine sets the RPM higher purposly so that the engine warms up.

That seems to be the conenesus. Mine runs about 1500 then down to 700. It used to run 2000 until I cleaned the entire throttle body.
