AE92 trany swap: Does the Paseo 4sp overdrive automatic fit onto Tercel 3EE ?

My 91 Tercel 3sp automatic trany is slipping on 2nd.
I am thinking to buy used from the junk jard.
Does 92-95 Paseo 4sp automatic with overdrive will fit onto 91 Tersel?
My engine is 3EE.
Any one did such a swap?

If fits, it should get better gas milage on highway, isn't it?

Fit yes, but the 4 speed has a ecm and will require wiring from what I understand.

Paseo Automatic w/Overdrive in a 92 Tercel

I have a '92 Tercel with a bad trans. I would like to replace the trans with an overdrive unit from a Paseo. Do I need the ECM from the Paseo? Are any mods necessary or does this unit just bolt up? I love my Tercel and it really looks like a new one but it is really sing'n to me at 70+ MPH. Any help would be appreciated.

4e

Is the 4E an overdrive trans that will bolt up to my Tercel? Sorry, I've built a lot of engines but don't know diddly about transmissions in Toyotas.
I do need a transmission and I have a shop that will install it. This is my daily driver.

going through a shop it'd be best to put a stock tranmission in or pay much higher labor.

I really like my tercel but over 70 it is screaming. Surely in a city as big as Dallas, I can find someone that has the necessary expertise to do this for me.
This Tecel has been with me for ten years and it looks new even though it just broke 100K. I plan on keeping this car as a daily driver for a long time.
