no, they're not, they just give you horrible fuel economy and potentially damage your catalytic converter in the long term...you never get reliable power for cheap

I got one off ebay last weekend and just installed it. My engine is stock 1.5. After the install I did notice a improvement in response time, and not the flat spot. I have not had it in long enough to get a MPG reading, but before with a bad O2 sensor, I was getting 28 miles to the gallon.

IMO, I would remove that before it causes problems.
