Hey its kenny. What new swap should i drop into my 91 tercel? i already have a 5efe from a pesao. i just have a need for more power. whar engine should i put and money is no object.
Well, you're in VA which isn't too far from my new shop in SC. Come on down and I'll swap a 3SGTE in there for you, best option while still staying somewhat practical (see above post). Probably can do that for you for around 10 Gs, rought estimate.
Come on down and I'll swap a 3SGTE in there for you,

Is that the 2.0 Celica engine? What would you do for brakes and suspension..........Dam I want one!!!!!

Modification: Changing something to what you thought it should have been from the start!
i meant to ask you that...i mean if you already have a few cars and you're just looking for variety, i think it would be sweet to tweak the 5efe all the way...now that would be somthin...
ok well i want to do all the work myself or majority of the work. i want a celica engine mostly and im still in a tercel because most are slow and im a sleeper. just seeing the look on someones face in a delsole or integra when i beat them makes my nigghts. how much would a 3sgte and five speed transmission cost me?
if you really want something exotic and unexpected think outside toyota. think twin turbo vg30 trans mounted from 300zx or twin turbo 6g72 from 3000gt. i know it would cause more weight, but they give the 6 cyl torque and the possibility for awd with the pachage. i know a guy running around tampa who swapped in a 6g72tt into his gen 2 evo. i think his dyno showed over 500 horses in a car weighing less than 3000 lbs. 6 to 1 power ratio is better than the new z06 vette. its 505 vs 3152, but its not awd. and the new vette ran the second fastest lap at nerburg in germany. passing ferarris and lambos, only the twin turbo porsche has a faster time and its only by the tenths.
i recomend buying corky bells book maximum boost. it will give you a bunch of ideas for turbo sizing and the best ideas about what type of performance you might be looking for. you can buy it just about any book store. some times the biggest turbo isnt the best. then you have to consider the intercooler and how much space you have to cool the air to the lowest ambient temp. to maximize your boost. tercels are kind of tight under the hood and can only hold what the maximum size intercooler for what your applications. remember, torque is what makes speed, not horse power. hp is just how has you can turn that torque. no matter how high your red line is, the torque curve will drop off at 5500 rpms. this is just a constant in gas engines. if you want a ton of torque, look into a desiel engine and stretched out gears. a four speed built to handle massive torque would prolong the time you are getting this outragious torque to the wheels. turbo the hell out of the desiel of course.
Yea well i just want a celica engine? to start with cause i love them and im stayin toyota. i have mr2 seats in it and i dont wanna put a turbo on right away i wanna give it sometime before i do. but i heard that celica engines are very sensitive to mods is that true cause i dont wanna mess up and get blown up and waist all my time and money on a car.
