My 92 Toyota Tercel is very slowly losing coolant. I have to top it off every 3 to 4 days. There is no obvious sign that in the engine compartment of any leaks. While driving, I would faintly smell coolant from time to time.
what he's implying is
(since you dont live where it snow's)
Park somewhere where the ground is clean (or park on top of an old sheet)
start the car, rev it up some and let it run for a few minutes (at least until you fan kicks in)Look on the ground/sheet to see where coolant is leaking
back track the leak to the source
if you dont find a leak, 2 probably cases are BHG or internal leak or what i had, the top tank (top edge of the radiator) was cracked and the coolant got sucked through the fan as it leaked down it got sucked up by the fan and thrown all over. granted ive got a cressida, but the problems the same

It might be leaking only when it is being driven. Check the heater hoses. They are attached to the block at one end, and to the firewall at the other end. So when you are driving, and the motor flexes in its mounts, the heater hoses flex, and a small crack may open.
