rough idling

My 92 Tercel, on start up, runs rough for the first 15-20 seconds when I start the car in the morning. It eventually smooths out. It periodically does it when I come to a stop. I have changed the spark plugs and the distributor cap and wires, as well as, the pvc valve.

Is there something that I have missed that would make the the car run smoother all the time?

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I'm going to try a fuel filter since I know it has 180,000 and is original. If that doesn't help I have a spare fuel pump to try. I'll tell you if I see any change.

small vacuum leak: 95% chance. its a pain to find em, but will cause rough idle, lack of power, bad braking in bad cases. those hoses should be checked and replaced with all others

what you can do is spray some smoke-in-a-can into the engine compartment and look for where it moves...it's used for exhaust leaks too
