mushy brake pedal?

Hey,

On my 92 tercel I just replaced the brake pads and re-did the drums (I also adjusted them). Even after many many brake bleedings the pedal travel is still kinda long. Has any one messed around with master cylinder stageing? I tried a little but it was kind of frustrating working underneath the dash without removing the drivers seat. Also the stopping distance isnt great, I'm assuming this is because the tercel has small brakes.

What kind of brake pads did you install?

DH serviced the brakes on our 94 Tercel a few years ago. We skimped by choosing the less expensive brake pads, and the brakes haven't felt the same ever since.

It's our humble opinion that our Tercel works best and longest if we use OEM parts whenever possible. Another specific case is the ignition wires. We used third party wires and got static on the radio. When we went back to OEM wires, the static went away.

Hey,

Ya I'll admit that I did use cheap pads, which could partly awnser why my stopping distance isn't the greatest.
