so anyway, i bought a starlet front clip a while ago. money's tight, but when it got to the shop (my work), the first thing that caught our attention was the steering wheel on the right side. not that i didn't know it was on the right side, we all started thinking about a conversion on my tercel.
so what i need to know, is if anyone knows if the dash will fit into a tercel? without too much trouble, im mainly concerned about the size of it, whether it migth be too wide or not wide enough
nope...you need to swap the whole firewall over because the sterring colum etc. wont work...nice try though. sounds like a good plan but a hell of a project to take on

i wasnt trying to be sarcastic or nothing, i just dont wanna tear the whole thing down for nothing, i like to know in advance, try to plan things out....not that i really ever plan things, they usually just happen, but u know
well.....tried getting the dash off th efront clip today....for the life of me i cant figure it out. things like a moldy cream cheese soaked dirty taco...
so ima forget the conversion, though i wonder if i can still salvage the tilt steering. i got the turbo sold out of it too, so i gotta get the saws all out next week and get it out....im cutting the frame apart, cant lift it, so i gotta do something
DONT CUT IT!!!! use a jack or two to put it on a steel or really strong wood pallet. it will be easy for a shipping company to move it. post the thing on ebay. you would be amazed how many people might be interested in an empy right hand front clip. you might make a few hundred for the front clip. think about how much it costed you to buy the whole thing and what some one with a tercel all ready motor swapped out might pay.
bah, im not selling an empty half frame, if someone wants it though, they can strip it down for me, otherwise, me and my friend mr saws all will be having some fun, or torches...
i thought about this. you could always run a junction box like on the old school drivers training cars. its pretty much your steering colum going into a gear box that converts foreward action to side, then side back to foreward. you could make that yourself or pull one out of an old drivers training car and mod that out.
