a cat back wont unless the state also has decibal limits as well. if you are installing a new muffler, just get the old sawzall out, remove the old one leaving yourself enough pipe to work with, weld the muffler on direct if you are a good welder or use couplers. it is best to remove the exhaust, take your time and measure often by reinstalling to confirm fit. midas and most other places usaully wont install something they dont sell, but it should only run you a 100 or so if they will install it for you. they should be able to do it in about 30-45 minutes. these guys do this type of stuff day in and day out.

man, i do exhausts an a daily basis, it doesnt take that long to cut a muffler and put a new one on. unless its rusted to sh1t and ur having too much fun with the hangers of course. but it only takes like 5 minutes to cut the old one off, 10 or so to fit the new muffler and like 10 to weld...k, so thats about 25 min, so i could be wrong

anyway....since your asking if its hard.....i just wanna make sure your not going to try and put a stainless muffler on aluminum pipes
