Gonna take a decent amount of work to get it off,
remove power steering belt
remove altenator belt
remove crankshaft pulley (almost killed me tryin to get that thing off)
remove upper ald lower timing belt covers
release the tension on the timing belt by loosening the No.1 idler pulley and pushing it all the way to the left
you should then be able to slide the timing belt off.

The Toughest part as everyone has said, is getting the pulley nut(s) off. And without trashing anything in/on/around the engine. Take my word for it, i know from bitter experience that you definitely want to use an impact wrench and not to try removing this big, tight bolt with 4 foot long breaker bars, etc.
Also you definitely need an impact if you are 1)changing CV drive axles, 2) removing a flywheel for some reason 3) nice to have when changing wheels for rotation. But who wants to spend $300 for an air compressor and another 50 or 100 for animpact wrench.

After years and years of trying all the hard ways i got an electric impact wrench, $300 from Sears. ( Its not as powerful as an air impact but it just pounds off the bolt, you just keep at it and it beats the bolt loose. Havent found anything it couldnt break loose yet.) Now the price on this same impact gun has come way down. But since you are probably using it only a couple times in you life syou could go with a cheapo model, as the saving on labor of having work done pays for it easily.

Changing the timing belt

Just changed mine a couple weekends ago, on my '92 3ee Tercel. Since a helpful friend and I didn't read EVERYTHING in the Hanes manual we had, we ended up unstalling/installing the belt and all parts involved no less than four times. We ran into the gotcha of thinking the round dimple on the front (outside) face of the crankshaft gear was the timing mark. IT IS NOT! LOL. The picture in the book shows an arrow pointing to the correct mark on the back flange of the gear. The trick I noticed was that the keyway on both the cam and crank are at 12-oclock when everything is set up right. The belt slips on the cam gear easier than the crank gear. Also, the lower cover will come off without removing the engine mount with a little effort. The Hanes book says to remove the bolt and support the engine with a floor jack, which could have been easier. By the fourth time, we were able to get the whole thing apart or together in 15-20 minutes--of course all of the rusted bolts were loosened by then.

Good luck!

Don
