I Help You With Timing Belt

of the plastic over. GOOD LUCK TO YOU WITH THAT ONE lol. Just kidding I will help you. Took 3 of us to figure it out and didn't need to buy an special tools. All you will need a strong rope and 2 strong hooks on both ends. Or what we used that self pulling 600 pound proof belt with the power crank on it. You will all need a large Power/Baker Bar and a long extension and 19 mm socket. On yeah and a block of wood about a foot or foot and half long 2x4 of bigger or a bucket for the Bar support.
So here what you do. Found a strong place under the car towards the rear to hook one end of the rope and hook the other end on the outside Pulley I suggest leaving the 4 bolts in the pulley for now. Ohh, forgot to add. Your car has to be off the ground and the RF wheel has to be of. And don't leave your car on the fee fee jack that you get from the trunk. Drop it one some thing hard coz you will be rocking your car at this point. Ohh Yeah and that plastic part that covers your engine from the bottom from the wheel dirt, should he removed as well.
Now put your Power Bar together and hook it on the 19mm bolt that holds that forsaken son of a bitch pulley in place "I hope it burns in hell". Now you see what that 2x4 was. Put it under the extension to support your power bar. Now its all set for the big fight with your Pulley. So go nuts..
OHHH YOU THINK THAT WAS PAIN LOL.....HAHAHA Here come a REAL PAIN.
What you done so far is just removed the out side pulley to gain access to the next level of difficulty. And now you will get to remove that second pulley, hope that one burns in hell as well. It Is jammed in there and holding for the dear life. BTW nothing holding it back but it self so don't look for any bolts. Here is a cheap and simple way to remove it. Since you CAN'T PRY on it. Now you will need that selfpulling belt with the power crank on it. Or you can make look a like by using that fee fee jack from the trunk of your car and the rope with teh hook on it. And you will also need back part of the 2 inch muffler clamp. Not the U part but the bracket. Here what you do with it. Flatten it out. And use a large screw driver or large nail to put a kink in the center of it so there will be a place to hook the hook. Now find a couple of washers and bolt that thing on the remaining pulley, hook your hook to the that thing and start Cranking. JUST A WORNING. Some how you have to manage not to be there. Coz ones that pulley lets go it will fly. God help if you hand is on the way. Or you can do as we did. Tighten that rope nice and tight. and the start taping that pully from out of the way, with the hammer. The inside on the engine bay is a good place. Then it will shoot out. DON"T BANG TO HARD. If you see it is not coming out then tighten the rope a little more, it will let go.
OK now you are done. I THINK NOT. Why do you think they change you 350$ to put that belt in. Well now you got aces to the belt and you can loosen the Tensioner Pulley and your belt should come out now. AND HERE COME THE REALLY HARD PART.
PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER lol. hahaha. Here is where my GOOD LUCK TO YOU KICK IN.
Ohh yeah if you are wondering why did I not say any thing about timing and trying not to turn any pulleys so it won't go off and try to save the timing as it is so you can just put on a new belt and put it all back together. Well I just don't see how it is possible lol. If you can do it with out turning any pulleys. I mean the CAM or the CRANK then you are my hero. I Just got a Timing Light (50$) so let them turn.
Just like I said good luck to you as you gonna need it.
Laterz

Wow, I used an impact wrench on mine and it slid right off then the cog pulley slid off just as easy. Another method if you have no impact is to brace the breaker bar with a pipe slid over for extra leverage. Then turn the key. The starter should have more than enough torque for a Toyota bolt. Forget it on a Honda though. Their's are way too tight.
My 4EFTE came off with just a standard ratchet.

Lucky you. I wish my 3EE would be so easy. And it will be ones I get another one and dump this one in the junk yard lol. Nah I won't do it. I will keep it as my privet engine project. See how much I can make out of it ones it will be out. I will start by rebulding it. Then do all the internal upgrades. Make it suitebale for turbo may be put a turbo head on it. May be one day I will want it back in my car lol. We will see.
