difference between the 3E and the 3E-E is the fuel system. 3E is carbureted, and 3E-E is fuel injected. other than that, everything is pretty much the same. the heads are interchangeable. if you're going to do all that to a 3E-E, it's going to cost a lot of money...maybe a swap would be the way to go?

if i did a swap id be looking for a direct drop in. im not trying to do much fabrication to the car itself, i wanna do as much to the engine outside of the car as i can... im too big of a guy to be tryin to get into my engine compartment. i changed the starter out in the tercel....hell no.... never again. lol....ill pull the engine completely before i do that shit again....

well a 5efe would dropright in, but it sounds like you'd rather not...before you do this boring, i'd suggest getting as much bolt on before you go tearing apart the engine, because that can get rediculously expensive, and if you don't have time or all the money to do it, you can get frustrated really fast...
