ok now what?

Ok, so i've read all the threads about engine swaps. I still dont know whats the best engine, I do however know whats the cheepest or easiest to do.WHat I Need to know is what kind of performance can I expect from these different engines?
5e-fe
4e-fte
4a-ge 16 valve
4a-ge 20 valve
or any other combos you might suggest. I have a 93 Tercel,5 speed with a blown engine. I also work with a group of Honda gear heads who told me to sell the Tercel, and buy a honda if I wanted performance. This is not an option, Ive done almost nothing to my Tercel except oil changes, tires and muffler for 300,000 miles and its never let me down. I also work with a 12 second nisson driver. So it would be nice to compete with these yahoos on the weekends at the track. Thank you for any input you might have.

It sounds like your looking at serious 1/4 mile times, soooo.....

The 5efe is probably not your best choice.
Although its a good strong engine, if your looking for serious power there are better options, this has about 100hp stock....read on

You seem to have missed the 5efhe

This is your easiest/beefiest option, with about 115hp stock, it can easily handle boost, and has been proven to handle up and over 300hp on stock internals

The 4efte is a good base to work on b/c it is stock turbo, not sure what the stock hp is, maybe 130'ish, so its fairly easy to tune up to 140, 150 hp range, but it doesnt have the strength to handle serious power the way a 5efhe does

^^All these E-series poretty much bolt right up, stock, mounts, tranny and whatnot, just get the proper ECU and harness with them

The A Series I'm not so sure on, but they do not bolt right up the way the E series engine do, youll have to at the very least do custom motor mounts, and i think a tranny swap
