94Tercel = 3EE
94 Paseo = 5EFE

5E's have the plugs enter dead center the valve cover, 3EE they enter the side of head above manifold.

Better or more powerful? the 5e is more powerful. and gets a bit better gas milage. both engines tend to be reliable.

91-94 3ee= 82 hp
88 3ee = 87 hp.

I'd add....If I had a chance and would be stong enough and didn't feel and pain. I would rip the 3EE outta my car and beat it with my hands till it is beyond recognition. Till there is nothing left.

But hay its only me. lol.

I love my 3ee and have refused to swap it so, It's been good to me. So I'm rewarding it with a top end rebuild and a shiny bottle of nitrous oxide.

By the time a 3EE will hit about 160 HP it will be about 3000$ if not in it. And a new motor will run about 900$ And you can start at 135hp....

Who said anything about making that kind of power? But yeah If you have high goals get a DOHC e-series engine. Though there's this guy in cali who build a 150 hp N/A 3ee. wasn't cheap but sure is cool.
