Locked Out Of The Car

I locked myself out of the car.

The windows are up, and I don't want to tear through the moulding around
the window.
And I sure as hell don't want to break my opera window.

They used to sell 'slim jims'...but not anymore

Anyone got an easier way of getting back in?

find a friend willing to use up one of his AAA visits for you?

the long way, get some extras made at the dealer?

I did that one time. Ever since I keep a copy in my wallet, not to mention the other copies I have in the house.

I KNOW A WAY...CAA did it to me, I locekd both keys in my car. So here was they di

You will nee a slim belt about half and inch wide and a freind. Fold it in 2 in the center. Get a stong guy pull on the top corner of the front door. While you slip the folded end of the belt over the door lock button and pull hard towards you and up. Don't be afraid it is strong you so you can pull as hard as you need. And don't worry about your door it will be fine it will flex back. But don't pull the door more then you need. Just far enough so you would have a HARD time pushing the belt through. Just to make sure find a wowen's slim dress belt.

Good luck. Other then that BUST A WINDOW. send some pics after/....

Call the cops. They'll come and open it for you. I've done it twice myself.

Thanx for the posts everyone,
I used a pry-bar to pry the rear passenger door about a 1/4 inch at the top,
fashioned a circle at one end of a metal clothes hangar,
dropped it down into the crack and looped it around the window roller handle,
and rolled down the window.

I posted this because we are adults here and I'm pretty sure no one is going
to go around breaking into each others Tercels, and it took me less than 5 minutes to do it
so this info might be able to help someone else.

I also made a copy so It won't happen again

Just for future references, if you go to the parts department of the dealer, all you have to do is supply them with your JT number and they can look it up and make you a key. The JT number is in the window by the drivers side, you can see it from outside.

They are supposed to make you show your registration, so they know you aren't a car thief, unless you are friendly with the parts guy. Mine did it for free.

Is the JT number and VIN number the same thing?
