For my 95 tercel, I plan on putting a 4efte on it, do i need a new fuel pump right away and do i have to change my exhaust for it too? Will the exhaust manifold match the system on my car? Other threads talk about needing a downpipe for it..
The fuel pump is fine but will need a return line added. You could use stock exhaust but I highly recommend 2.5" pipe. The 4e exhaust won't bolt up to the existing pipe.
I say that because one not all the experts are into TerSeos and two some of the TerSeo pros don't post on TO for whatever reasons they have. I didn't say they all post here either! Each forum has a few people that don't post at the others. Look around for information. Find the people that accelerate in the field for which you seek knowledge. Soak in as much information as possible from the best sources.
i think u might have the answer to my question then...?????....i have a 87 tercel automatic with a carb i want to swap it out for a 4a-fe automatic from a 92 corolla and i do have the complete car...

Not very versed in these things but here goes. I want to swap my 2E 1999 Tercel engine. Can anybody tell me what is the most compatible engine that requires no modifications?

Someone suggested a 5A 16 valve corolla.
The "A" series engines are not a direct drop in. Its hard to say a swap will be easy since the 2E is carbed. Aside from wiring differences, you'll need install a fuel pump designed for fuel injection along with a return line if you want teh 3EE, 4EFE, 4EFTE or 5E. The 3E would probably be the easiest since its carbed, but its a very small HP gain. See link below for E series engine info.
