Piston markings

Hi everyone i have pulled the head of my 88 tercel the pistons have a (2) marking on them as well as the block,in addition the pistons have a (S) marking my manual doesnt mention this markings are this markings the size of the piston?

The 2 on the piston tells the toyota parts guy what rings/pistons fit yes. On the bottom of the block you'll find 2 more series of numbers for the rod/main bearing sizes. All toyota engines are factory blueprinted and marked like this.
