new oil pump pistonsbore 30 out head shaved dont know if im gonna get a port job or not just depends if so how much should i get the head ported to a mild stage or as heavy as it can go i wonder what my dyno is gonna be after this it will be interesting just all motor set up no nos or turbo i love project cars any thing else you might add would be cool
You're going to spend more on machine shop work than I did on a 4efte with transmission. That being said if you're still wanting to build the 3ee you'll want to search for all posts by ToyotaTechGeek as he IS the 3E man. If you want real power start looking at a 4a swap.

i know what your saying but i dont wanna mess with all the wiring and stuff just a pain in the ass
besides the 3ee isnt that bad of a motor and its good on gas.dont want a turbo for my daily driver just wanna little extra kick up from 82 hp thats all.
i found a rebuild kit for 300 bucks through my parts store i work at not that expensive.
and besides why wait around for a turbo motor that you have no clue if its going to start for you or not? anyways i think im gonna get the head polished as well
hmmmmm, i'll bet you end-up with about 78whp if you play your cards right. doesn't sound like you've got anything to write home about as far as making any more than stock hp.
btw: 78whp is what was advertised back in 89 as the bhp#. and port/polish is a waste without other supporting mods on the 3E-E

Good luck with the project and take pictures...
I love that 3EE and I'm trying to build mine back up also.
Also a cold air mod is cheap and easy to install and will
give you a little better response.

what ar you doing to your 3ee im just 30 out and shving the heads
and what kind of mod are you talking about with the cold air intake im just gonna cut a hole in my hood and connect an air filter to a pvc pipe oh yeah im going for that subaru look
yeah, i hear ya...been there done that like back in 1990's...believe me, there's no way you could possibly do more than what i've done to these engines. not trying to be cocky, just being real. i set-out to do the same thing only in an autocross/roadrace kinda way...thousands of dollars later...

it doesnt cost that much to get your engine rebuit if you work at a parts store and you know people and if i wanted a 4efte i would have gotten one aready
Sure it does. You've already said the kit was 300 and you intend to bore. How much are pistons? My 4e-fte was less than 700 so you don't have many more parts/machine work in the budget for a cost comparison. Now I expect you to mention that my engine has 80k miles on it and I'll remind you that the kit isn't oem parts. Just trying to save you a little money.

700 dam thats a good deal wish i would have done that but how did you find a 4e for that cheap
and my engine has already been paid for lol i feel like a jackass oh well its just money i'l just work on the body next then i'l have to get a powerful motor for it
i looked all over ebay and found nothing for around 700 bucks and im sorry about the post before i was just in a bad mood nothing against you i know u know what your talking about i was just frustrated on other issues but anyways damn i become nice when im drunk lol
on a side note i was at a bar tonight and i told a chick that i drive a tercel and she l started cracking up like i was joking and she said do you go to meetings for that like it was a drug she didnt beleive me finally after all the shit she saw it and was like thats a corolla i was like ohh god whatever lolthat was totaly off the subject but it was funny at the time
Lol, you shoulda took pics of her for us then banged her on the hood for a sweet priceless picture. No problems on any words, I sometimes improperly word things myself and end up sounding like a jerk.
I got super lucky on the price of this engine but I have seen at least 4 after priced near the same. There's a place in TX that also brings killer deals. JHot is a 2 hour drive for me so I saved on shipping too.
