4efte Ecu

I heard that the 4E ECU will only support about 200HP is that true? What does it mean though. What will the ECU not do if you have more then 200HP or what ever it can support up to ? And where can I get the ECU that will support more or how can I make the stock ECU support more ?

Use a piggyback such as emanage or safc to manage things.

By the way, are you starting to see the reason I said 4e-fte's cost a bit? The initial install is cheap, but electronics upgrades add up fast. Once you have it running right in stock form I'd hook up the stock exhaust and save up some funds because it sounds like you intend several mods. It'd be far easier to gether all the parts needed then install all at once and have it tuned than keep going back for tuning every couple weeks.
I had issues with my large exhaust flowing so freely that you can not control the turbo. I have it restricted currently to maintain about 9 - 10.5 psi and it runs much cleaner with less hassles but it shows the restriction at the top of each gear.

How big is your exhaust;....
Well my car is all hooked up. And it is working fine. I mean it has a few little after-swap problems. Witch i was hoping you can help me out with. So right now I looking in to getting a proper exhaust. since I used the starlert's cat's flanges and the stock 3e headders flanges to make the tercel's exhaust be a direct bolt on. But I made the adaptor way to long and because of that the whole exhaust sitting way to low. I mean with a good bump I hit the damn thing. Its nothing siriouse yet but it could be. So the exhaust is the fist thing I want to bang away. After I will get custom exhaust manifold. And turbo front mounted intercooler and piping with BOV. I hope all of thoe mods exhaust included will give me about 5HP. I already have a cold Air intake so that gives me 1 or 2 hp.

I resolved most of the problems I had. But there is 3 I can't fix. So please if you can give me a few ideas.

1. With the swap I put in an Air/Fuel gauge. And that thing shows me crazy stuff. The niddle is never steady . It jumping all over. Doese't matter if I am driving or idelling. It goes all over the gauge all the time. I mean it kind of calms down a little bit when I am driving. But over all the car's Air/Fuel is crap. It shouldn't be like that as I saw it in other cars working.

(A guy on the Tercelonline tald me that the air fuel is some what unstable. But its not THAT unstable. I mean in about 10 seconds or less the niddle on the gauge will jump from lean to rich about 30 times. As I seen it work on other cars; when the car just starts the niddle slowly climbs to optimal and stays there most of the times. The one way it will jump around if there is a hard shifting or agressive driving, even then its pretty stady. So how can make my Air/Fuel to work normal.)

2. After I drive of and come to a stop, a red light. I can hear the engine revving up and down, up and down, up and down. By it self. Firs it does it fast. Then slowly and then just idels.

(And the harder I drive the longer it takes for that thing to go away. If I drive really hard and come to a stop the engine will rev up and down really fast and longer, then slow down more and more and then it just ideals normaly. I talked to a mechanic at work and he said that that thing it called "The engin is Hunting". Not sure about the spelling).

3. My car never came with the Tach in the gauge cluster. So I got the cluster with the Tach in it from the 92 Tercel. I hooked it up, but the tach is the only thing that is not working. Since my car never had Tech in it and never had a Maunual tranny is there some wires I have to change around to make the tach work. Also now as I look at the speedo niddle and go faster it shakes when it moves up. Before it use to go up steady. What I should I chek to make that thing stay calm.

(I think I need do some wire work on that but I can't find the pin out with discription for the plugs that I have. I found one for paseo but it has 3 plugs. I got 2 plugs comming outa of my car that plug on the back of the cluster. Mine is 94, 4 door, no ABS car. I got the gauges fro it from a 92 Tercel the same as mine exept that one has a Tach on it. Also when even I pull the Ebrake, apart from the Ebrake sigan the Low Batt indicator also comes on. it does not comes on for the Low Batt though it comes on for the Ebrake. So what wires should I chanage around to makes that cluster work properly. Do I even have a wire for the tach on my car? If not where should I run it from and to what pin?)
