issues with my 95 tercel

Ok umm hey my name is Dyani and i'm outta Las Vegas.

The other night I hopped in my 95 auto tercel to go pick up some last minute fireworks as soon as i turned to pull outta my drive way i noticed my steering was super stiff, then the brake light and batt light kicked on followed by some really odd rattling/sputtering noises. I pulled back into the drive way and haven't touched it since.

I don't really know much about cars and i'm kinda at a loss as to what to do. From what i gather from other posts with people having the same issue is that they spent the money to replace the alternator only to discover it was something else. That and i haven't seen anything about having issues with the steering (yes i checked the fluid) Why must it all blow up at the same damn time :/

Sounds like some kind of short... It could have been caused by some sort of missfire.... but the brake light only comes on when it`s running to ground. Battery light could have came on to ground when the system was losing ignition. I would check the condition on your spark plug wires and fuses first. Also the serpantine (drive) belts on the engine would a good start.

Check the pulleys to find out why the belt came off.
