1991 3EE Catalytic Converter

Thanks to 89tercelEZ4efte!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last month I purchased a 91 tercel as a second car, something I could leave at the airport for most of the month and not worry about what happens to it. The P.O. said it needed a fuel filter and after driving it a little I tended to agree because the car had bad accelleration and no power. So I bought the car and changed the fuel filter only to find that there was no change in the performance of the car.
After reading a thread from 89tercelEZefte stating that the catalytic converters on these models fail over 100k I decided to have a look at mine.
I found the problem.
I disassembled the exhaust system today only to see half of the inside of the cat was gone. I found the missing pieces in the resonator and muffler. Now I know what was making the exhaust rattle. So, after replacing the cat the car is working a lot better. I haven't replaced the muffler yet but I'm sure after I do the car will be back to normal.
Thanks again for the help.
